Open the Last Login Monitoring
In order to view and manage the last login list:
Open the admin panel
In the left navigation bar, select “Last Login List” under the title “Last Login Monitoring”
The list will open immediately showing all active users in your Confluence sorted by their last login date (never logged in users at the beginning sorted alphabetically, you can enable the listing of deactivated users in the search configuration above the list)
In case you have a Active Directory connected to your Confluence, those users might show as well. Use the group filter to exclude those users (see below)
Last Login List Properties:
User: the username of the user (if deactivated, shown in brackets)
Full Name: The full name of the user
Last Login: The last known date when the user has logged in. (Last Login Date)
Created: The date when the user was created. Please note that if the user is linked to an external directory, the date might not be displayed.
Last contribution: The last known date when the user has modified or created a page.
Email: The email of the user
Filtering by User Groups
In case you have a Active Directory connected to your Confluence or you just want to see users belonging to certain user groups, you can filter for one or multiple user groups:
In the search configuration above, select the one or multiple group(s) of the users you want to see.
Then click on “Apply filter” to update the list.
Tips:
In case you have a Active Directory connected to your Confluence it might be useful to select “confluence-users” in the group filter to only see users which actually have a confluence account.
The chosen filter, will also apply to the csv-export (see below)
Filtering by Date Range
You can filter by a date range for the last login date of users. There are some pre-defined date ranges as well as the option to set a custom range:
In the search configuration above, select a pre-defined date range or select one of the last two options to set a custom range
Not logged in since: You only need to choose one date. The date range will be set from this day to this day.
Not logged in from … to …: You need to choose two dates, which will define the date range.
Then click on “Apply filter” to update the list.
Sorting the Last Login List
You can sort the last login list by each column either in an ascending or descending order:
Click on the arrow-icon next to the column header of the column you wish to sort by
Click again on the icon to switch from ascending to descending and vice-versa
Exporting to CSV
To generate a csv-file with the data from the last login list:
Click on “New CSV-export” in the bottom right corner below the list
A window will open and when the csv-file is ready, a link to download will be displayed.
Reindexing the Last Login List
The last login list is updated automatically once a day at 4 a.m. If you made changes to users or user groups after that you need to update the list manually:
In the search configuration above, click on “Update”
A pop-up dialog will appear, telling you the last indexing time and notifying you that the indexing might take some time. Click on “Yes”. The list will be reindexed.
Restricting the Reindexing to Groups
In order to restrict the indexing to certain users:
Click on the cogwheel in the top right corner of the search configuration.
Choose the groups, which include the users you want to be indexed (e.g. confluence-users or your AD-group(s)).
Click on “Save”
Start the indexing (for further information, see paragraph above) in order to apply the configuration changes you just made.
In case the indexing is still running, interrupt it first, then restart it.
Click on “Interrupt” (same place as the “Update”-Button)
Then click on “Update”
