Group Copy Permission for Confluence
1. Open the App
Navigate to your Admin Panel.
In the left-hand navigation bar, click on “Group Permission Copy”.
2. Select Groups
Choose your source and target groups by:
Typing the name (autocompletion will assist), or
Selecting from the provided list.
Note: The source and target group must be different.
3. Generate a Preview
Click "Generate Preview" to see:
Which permissions will be added to the target group.
Which permissions would need to be removed for the two groups to match exactly.
You can:
Deselect specific spaces to prevent permissions from being added or removed.
Click on arrows to see detailed page-level permissions.
Tip: This feature is especially useful when renaming groups. Just create a new group with the desired name, copy all permissions from the old group, and delete the original. The result: same user, same access - new group name!
4. Copy Permissions
Choose one of the available actions:
Only add missing permissions
Remove and add permissions (makes both groups identical)
5. Track Your Changes
Use the Permission Copy History to:
Review past changes.
Avoid copying the same permissions multiple times.
Tip: This feature is especially useful if you want copy permissions from multiple groups into one group. You can check which groups you already copied.
You can only see the last 10 changes.
